Festival Macumba invites you to fall in love with the music straight from the streets of Latin America. This festival was born in 2018 from the idea to translate the unique ambiance and experience of club night Fiesta Macumba into an outdoor festival. After four successful editions, we’re back in the summer of 2025!

On Saturday the 19th of July, the beautiful grounds of De Ven in Spaarnwoude near Amsterdam will shine with the best Latin DJ’s from the scene, street food, life style and much more. General

Where and when is Festival Macumba?

Festival Macumba takes place on Saturday the 19th of July 2025 at De Ven in Spaarnwoude (Velsen-Zuid), near Amsterdam.

What are the opening times?

We open the gates at 13:00 pm and the festival ends at 23:00 pm. You can enter until 20:00 pm at the latest.

What is the minimum age requirement?

There is a minimum age requirement of 18 years. You are required to bring a valid ID. A copy of the ID is not regarded as valid.

Are there lockers at the festival?

Yes, there are both large and regular size lockers available. Prevent standing in line and purchase your locker on our Ticket Page beforehand. Simply bring your locker ticket and have it scanned at our locker desk; there you will receive the pincode to your locker.

It is also possible to purchase a locker at the festival, but we recommend purchasing it in advance online for a quicker service.

Is the festival accessible for people in a wheelchair?

Yes, the terrain is mostly ground floor.

I lost something at the festival. What should I do?

If you lost personal items at Festival Macumba such as keys, a wallet or phone, you can drop by the festival terrain at a later moment to pick your item up in case it has been found by our crew. There is always someone present on-site to assist you with this.

What happens in case of rainfall?

We are always prepared for some rainfall. Don’t worry: there are stretch tents and spots to stay dry on various parts of the terrain. These can also be used to provide shade from the sun.

Transport

How do I get to Festival Macumba?

Shuttle Bus
The best way of transport to the festival! Our shuttle buses are constantly driving on July 19th to bring you to and from the festival. The shuttle bus stop is at Station Amsterdam Sloterdijk and takes you to the festival in about 20 minutes. The shuttle stops in front of the festival entrance. Please note that you need a shuttle bus ticket for this and it can only be purchased online, through our Ticket page. The early shuttle bus tickets are cheaper, so it pays off to arrive on time.

Car – Kiss & Ride / Parking
Drive via the N202 (Amsterdamseweg along the Noordzeekanaal) to the Laaglandersluisweg, Velsen-Zuid, follow the “Kiss & Ride / Parking” signs and follow the instructions of the traffic controllers. The K&R / Parking is only a few minutes walking distance from the festival entrance.

Bicycle
Feeling sportive? It’s also possible to cycle to Festival Macumba. Just navigate to De Ven, Velsen-Zuid and simply follow the signs to the free bicycle stall area in front of the festival terrain.

Can I get to the festival with public transport?

When traveling by public transport, it’s best to travel to Station Amsterdam Sloterdijk. From there you can just take our shuttle buses to the festival. A return ticket can be purchased on our Ticket page.

Food & Drinks

How do I pay for food and drinks at the festival?

Food and drinks can be purchased with tokens at Festival Macumba. These tokens can be purchased at our token machines with card as well as cash.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

No you can’t. However, Festival Macumba offers a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a large selection of food, including biological and vegetarian options. Free tap water is provided at the toilet areas.

I received a recycle token, what can I do with this?

We only use reusable plastic cups and bottles to keep Festival Macumba waste-free. “Leave No Trace” is our motto! This is how it works:

At the festival entrance you will receive a recycle token. You can hand in this token at the bar during your order in exchange for a cup/bottle/can. Please don’t throw this away but hand it in at the bar and receive a new recycle token for your next order, or you can just order a new drink right away.

Did you happen to lose your cup/bottle/can? You can get a new one for half a token at the bar during your next order.

Tickets

I have not personalized my tickets yet, is this a problem?

No problem, you can personalize your tickets until the day of the festival. Please note tickets are sealed (not downloadable) until 1 day before the event.

Can’t make it to the festival anymore and wish to sell your ticket? This is only possible through our official ticket partner Ticketswap. You can access this resale option directly from the link in your confirmation email.

I would like to change the name and/or e-mail address on my ticket, how do I do this?

You can change this info through the link in your order confirmation email.

I lost my tickets, how can I find them back?

I bought tickets but I have not received them yet by e-mail. Why?

In order to download your tickets, all of the purchased tickets in your order have to be personalized. Personalization can be done through the link in your confirmation e-mail. When this has been done, the tickets can be downloaded 1 day before the festival. In case you can’t find this e-mail anymore, please follow this link.

House Rules

What are Festival Macumba’s house rules?

To make Festival Macumba as enjoyable as possible for all visitors, the following house rules apply:

  • The minimum age to visit the festival is 18 years. We can ask visitors to show a valid physical ID at any time.
  • Visitors have to be in possession of a valid entry ticket.
  • The possession or dealing of drugs is prohibited at the festival; a zero tolerance policy applies. If drug possession is detected, you will be refused / denied (further) access to the event. If there is any evidence of overt use and/or possession on the festival terrain, confiscation of the drugs will follow and/or the offender will be handed over to the police.
  • We will search visitors pre-emptively and check their (hand) bags to ensure the safety of her visitors. It is mandatory to cooperate with a safety inspection.
  • Possession of glass, plastic bottles, cans, fireworks, drugs (including laughing gas), (fire) arms and/or other dangerous or prohibited items or substances, food, (alcoholic) drinks and/or pets are not allowed. Bringing opened packages of deodorant, perfume bottles, etc. and pressurized aerosol cans is also not permitted.
  • It is not allowed to walk in and out during the event. Upon re-entry, the entrance fee must be paid again (if the event is not sold out yet).
  • Visitors enter the festival at their own risk. We take no responsibility for any damages on any grounds whatsoever, which directly or indirectly arise out of acts or omissions of the festival, persons in its service, other persons who are working at the festival, or third parties during or in connection with the stay at the festival, unless the damage is caused by intent or gross negligence.
  • Visitors are advised to wear earplugs; these will be available for purchase at the festival.
  • Visitors must be properly dressed. Please be aware that wearing a football shirt and/or discriminatory clothing is not allowed.
  • The organization reserves the right to refuse / deny (further) access to visitors in a drunken state and/or under the influence of narcotics.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the tents, it is only allowed in the open air or the designated smoking areas.
  • It is not allowed to urinate outside of the designated restrooms.
  • We will not tolerate threats, abuse, discrimination, sexual harassment and other nuisance and/or offensive behaviour towards staff or other visitors.
  • In the event of a fight, all parties/persons involved will be removed from the festival grounds.
  • It is not allowed to hand out promotional materials (samples / flyers, etc.) without written permission from the festival organisation. In the event of unauthorized promotion, all imposed sanctions and/or cleaning costs will be recovered from the organization/person concerned.
  • It is not allowed to make professional audio or video recordings without written permission from the festival organisation.
  • The festival organization automatically receives the right to all image and sound recordings made during the event. These recordings can be made public without (advance) announcement and without compensation.
  • When entering and leaving the festival visitors must not cause nuisance to the neighborhood.
  • Glasses / cups are not allowed to be taken outside the festival area.
  • Sales on and around the site, other than stallholders at the festival itself, are prohibited. This also applies to the sale of items such as tobacco, laughing gas and vapes.
  • In the event of any disturbances or calamities, please notify security or staff immediately.
  • Visitors are held to follow instructions, regulations and/or directions of (security) staff at all times.
  • Access to the festival grounds will be denied to visitors who do not comply with the house rules and the Terms and Conditions without the right to reimbursement of tickets, any service charges and/or other costs.

Can I take pictures of myself and other visitors at the festival?

Upon entering the festival, you give permission to be photographed and filmed by our hired crew. It is however not allowed to bring professional equipment yourself. Of course you are allowed to take pictures and make videos with your phones.

Can I bring a GoPro or selfie stick?

GoPro’s are allowed at the festival, but selfie-sticks are not allowed.

Can I hand out flyers or promote my own event?

No, it is forbidden to hand out or put up any promotional material in and around the festival terrain.
